We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking, and we are committed to preventing these practices from occurring within our supply chain or in any part of our business. This Modern Slavery Policy outlines our approach to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking do not exist within our operations or supply chains.
1. Scope
1.1 This policy applies to Peppermint Events Limited (referred to in this policy as ‘the company’).
1.2 This policy applies to all persons working for us and on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels and grades in our employment, whether temporary, part-time or full-time or fixed term employees, contractors and third-party representatives. It extends to all aspects of our operations, including recruitment, procurement, and supply chains.
2. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to:

3. What is Modern Slavery?
Modern slavery refers to situations where individuals are coerced, forced, or manipulated into working under the threat of violence, fraud, or other forms of manipulation or control. This includes, but is not limited to:

3.4 Involuntary domestic servitude
4. Commitment
4.1 The company is committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery
throughout our supply chains, consistent with our disclosure
obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
4.2 We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and as part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children, and we expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.
4.3 The Company acknowledges its responsibilities in relation to tackling modern slavery and commits to complying with the provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
4.4 The Company understands that this requires an ongoing review of both its internal practices in relation to its labour force and, additionally, its supply chains.
4.5 The Company does not enter into business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.
4.6 No labour provided to the Company in the pursuance of the provision of its own services is obtained by means of slavery or human trafficking.
4.7 The Company strictly adheres to the minimum standards required in relation to its responsibilities under relevant employment legislation in the UK.
4.8 Where there is evidence of failure to comply with our procedures by any of our suppliers, the company will seek to terminate our relationship with that supplier immediately.
5. Our Approach to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking
5.1 Due Diligence: We will conduct risk-based due diligence on our suppliers and contractors to identify and address potential modern slavery risks.
5.2 Supplier Engagement: We will require all suppliers, contractors, and partners to comply with our Modern Slavery Policy and conduct regular checks to ensure that modern slavery is not present within their own operations or supply chains.
5.3 Staff Training: We will provide training to all relevant employees to raise awareness of modern slavery and how to identify potential risks. Employees will be empowered to report concerns about any suspected instances of modern slavery.
5.4 Risk Assessment: We will conduct regular risk assessments of our business and supply chain activities to identify and mitigate any risks of modern slavery or human trafficking.
6. Compliance with the policy
6.1 You must ensure that you read, understand and comply with this policy.
6.2 The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chains is the responsibility of all those working for us or under our control. You are required to avoid any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy.
6.3 You must notify the human resources manager as soon as possible if you believe or suspect that a conflict with this policy has occurred or may occur in the future.
6.4 You are encouraged to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any parts of our business or supply chains at the earliest possible stage.
6.5 If you believe or suspect a breach of this policy has occurred or that it may occur, you must notify your line manager as soon as possible and contact the modern slavery helpline on 0800 0121 700.
6.6 If you are unsure about whether a particular act, the treatment of workers more generally, or their working conditions within any tier of our supply chains constitutes any of the various forms of modern slavery, please raise it with your line manager.
6.7 We aim to encourage openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith under this policy, even if they turn out to be mistaken.
6.8 We are committed to ensuring no one suffers any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting in good faith their suspicion that modern slavery of whatever form is or may be taking place in any part of our own business or in any of our supply chains.
6.9 Detrimental treatment includes dismissal, disciplinary action, threats or other unfavourable treatment connected with raising a concern. If you believe that you have suffered any such treatment, you should inform your line manager immediately. If the matter is not remedied, and you are an employee, you should raise it formally using our Grievance Procedure, which can be found in our Staff Handbook.
7. Breaches of this policy
7.1 Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for serious/gross misconduct.
7.2 We may terminate our relationship with other individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.
8. Interaction with other company policies and procedures
8.1 This policy will be reviewed on an annual basis or more frequently if legislative or other changes are required.
8.2 This policy will be used in conjunction with any related policies within the company.
8.3 This policy does not form part of any employee’s contract.
8.4 This policy supersedes any previous policy
