Peppermint collborates with Every Child Online Charity

Date 2024
Capacity 120 tons of e-waste saved from landfill sites
Location Essex, England

This year, Peppermint teamed up with Every Child Online (ECO), an ambitious UK charity whose goal is to support efforts to close the digital divide and prevent digital isolation and ignite digital creativity –with a key focus on children and young adults in disadvantaged and marginalised communities.

As part of our commitment to sustainability and technology, we chose to collaborate with this specific charity due to it’s commendable work on community engagement. Their dedication to social responsibility to young children in the UK is remarkable and we are privileged to be given the opportunity to collaborate with them.

As part of our commitment ECO, we were able to donate up to 40 devices plus further cash donations to the charity. Our aim of our contribution is to significantly enhance the educational opportunities for many children, enabling them to access vital online resources and continue their studies effectively.

“We are immensely grateful to Peppermint for their generous donation. This support not only provides essential tools for children’s education but also inspires hope and opportunity for their futures. Once again, thank you for your  support. We look forward to the possibility of collaborating with Peppermint in future initiatives to further our shared goals of sustainability and community development.” Mike Tabard, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Every Child Online

Take a look at some key facts from ECO:

  1. ECO has refurbished over 20,000 donated laptops, phones, tablets, and PC desktops –approx £6m refurbished devices being delivered to  support underprivileged children and young adults.
  2. Over 120 tons of e-waste saved from landfill sites.
  3. 1 in 5 children do not have access to a computer in the UK
  4. 2,270,000 kgs of CO2 emissions saved.
  5. 70 Tonnes of electronic “waste” saved from landfill (That is the equivalent of over 7 double-decker Buses)

We look forward to collaborating with ECO in the near future.
