Since 2009 Peppermint have been working with Simon and the team at Life Water on their incredible journey to deliver clean water to communities in need across the globe.
We are delighted to announce that through our volume of purchasing we have unlocked funding to create our fourth drinking well for a clean water project in India. On our behalf, DROP4DROP successfully installed a deep Borewell fitted with an Electrical Motor and a 2,000 litre Overhead Tank. This project provides access to free clean water to 1,211 people in the Achamnaidu Kandriga Village located in Tamil Nadu.
At Peppermint, we believe water is basic right that should be provided to everyone at anytime. We are thrilled to be part of this incredible cause that allows us to provide this necessity to those who still struggle to get access to free clean water. As we continue our journey to become a Net Zero business, so far we have managed to reduce our Co2 footprint by 85%, but much more work is still yet to be done and working with like minded business is key our success on this pathway.
“We normally do not get the required water in our village and we used to go to the nearby horticulture farms and request the farm owners to permit to pull out water from their open wells. It was a great struggle to pull out the water and our children along with us used to suffer physical hardships and we used to curse gods and goddess for placing us in such a poor condition. We had no other way. Now after they’ve installed new water project through kindly donated by PEPPERMINT, Through Purchases of Life Water and DROP4DROP, U.K. it has become a great support to all the members of the village. We are able to bring water very easily to our home. Our time is saved and our children are able to attend to their homework and also studies in a better manner. THANK YOU. DRINK WELL BE WELL.”
– Yashwini of Achamnaidu Kandriga SC Village
(This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.)
