Experienced Bar Operations Event Manager- London

Assisting in the management of: Build Crew, Bar Managers, Runners, Operations & other On-Site Event Teams


Build Duties & Responsibilities (if required)
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to facilitate event setup, managing build crews, schedules, and equipment, while adhering to budgets and optimizing cost efficiencies.
• Coordinate closely with the Event Manager, Project Manager, and Operations Team on load and delivery dates.
• Organize and coordinate vehicles, plant & tools, ensuring the safekeeping of equipment pre, during, and post-event in conjunction with the office manager if applicable.
• Ensure the correct and safe utilization of equipment, including vehicles, plant, and tools among the crew.
• Deliver comprehensive build crew briefings, covering site rules, health & safety protocols, and ensuring the correct uniform/PPE is worn.
• Delegate crew tasks from the build schedule.
• Oversee the construction of bars based on specifications, ensuring bar build checklists are completed in a timely manner.
• Assist with general admin tasks, including recording crew hours, sign-out sheets, and incident/accident reporting.
• Collaborate with the Senior Event Manager and Project Manager on any issues during the build phase, such as power, water, site infrastructure, event teams, and suppliers.
• Adhere to Peppermint Policies, including H&S Policy, vehicle policies, expenses, and staff conduct.


Show Days Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage set-up/closure, maintenance, and overall security of on-site operations, including infrastructure, kit and staff welfare.
• Coordinate deliveries to/from external contractors/suppliers, artist liaison ensuring accurate recording with the Stock Team
• Act as the primary point of contact for bar managers in the absence of the Senior Event Manager.
• Regularly check in with Bar Managers and On-Site teams to ensure correct staffing levels and coordinate adjustments as necessary.
• Responsible for overseeing the live operation of bars, including managing Bar Managers, staff and crew, implementing streamlined procedures, monitoring and addressing any operational challenges across multiple locations.
• To have expertise in Licensing laws and ensure strict adherence to licensing objectives across the entire site.
• Collaborate with the Senior Event Manager, Project Manager, and Site Teams to address any issues with power, water, access, etc.
• Adhere to Peppermint Policies, including H&S Policy, vehicle policies, expenses, and staff conduct.


De-Rig & Post-Show Duties & Responsibilities
• Support the Project Manager/Operations Manager in managing expected delays to the Production schedule and adjusting timelines due to factors like weather or unforeseen delays.
• Manage and work with the crew during derig, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety and site rules.
• Organize and coordinate the safe return of vehicles, plant, tools, keys, and bar kit to HQ or suppliers.
• Ensure no Peppermint kit is left on-site, and all supplier collections have taken place.
• Safely pack away all paperwork for return to the Project Manager/Head Office.



• Problem-solving and management through stressful situations
• Event Management experience
• Able to delegate well
• Good ability to communicate relevant information to all departments involved in the event
• Experience in running teams on Medium/ large scale events
• Working to a high standard and staying calm under pressure
• A keen eye for detail
• Bar Management / Hospitality Experience
• Willing to live and work onsite at festivals and events both during and outside regular working hours
• Personal License Holder

• Experience in organising big major events
• Experience of working with multiple contractors
• Knowledge of Risk Management
• Familiarity with project planning and risk management tools and techniques
• Full clean Driving License
• Fork Lift License

Business Specific Requirements

Operating Environment & Context

The business is very seasonal. Summer months are incredibly busy, with the busiest periods between May to September, and the month December. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals on weekends.

Travel & Other Requirements

Travel required to and from events if required during the summer months. It is expected that you will visit certain events to assist the onsite teams, provide in person training and feedback or evaluate performance, system and process.

Overnight stays may be required but in conversation with yourself.
Evening and weekend availability is expected in the summer months during live events to assist where necessary. This can be remote. Overtime is paid.
