An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stock Manager to join Peppermint Events, based at The Piece Hall in Halifax. The Piece Hall is a unique open-air courtyard located in the heart of Halifax. The courtyard is surrounded by unique shops, bars, cafés and restaurants, hosting a fabulous run of concerts from May to August.
Join our Peppermint Summer Events Team as an Event Stock Manger at The Piece Hall, delivering outstanding food and beverage experiences across a wide range of our summer shows here, for the 3rd year running. We have an array of artists lined up for the Summer, some of the shows announced so far are The Kooks, Amy Macdonald, Bastille and many confirmed with more to come!
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the stock across the site, to ensure all bars are fully stocked and run efficiently during the shows. This role requires a proactive and organized individual to ensure efficient stock ordering with suppliers, coordination of deliveries, inventory control, and team management on-site.

Rate: £17.72/hour (plus hol pay)

Key Accountabilities:
Inventory Management
Take full responsibility for site-wide stock management across all bars
Forecast stock requirements based on attendance, artist profile and historical consumption data
Manage stock ordering with the senior stock controller and suppliers
Liaise with suppliers to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
Ensure all bars have correct products, menus and equipment for each show
Manage stock budgets, ensuring cost control while meeting operational needs
Co-ordinate Deliveries
Schedule and coordinate deliveries to the venue from suppliers
Ensure accurate and timely receipt of all stock items, ensure to flag any missing items with suppliers
Liaise with The Piece Hall’s on-site events team when scheduling deliveries
Stock Takes & Control
Conduct regular stock takes to monitor inventory levels for each show
Implement inventory control measures to prevent losses and discrepancies
Maintain accurate stock records and report on inventory status
Ensure accurate reporting on stock wastage across site
Organise the stock across site, ensuring each bar has the correct products in line with the menus
Organisation & Staff Management
Recruit, train, and supervise the stock team members – managing the team efficiently to ensure the bars run smoothly on event days
Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth operations
Monitor team performance and provide feedback for improvement
Train staff on inventory procedures, including how to handle, store, and track stock to avoid losses or mistakes
On-Site Experience
Ensure all stock is properly managed and stored at each bar location
Address and resolve any on-site issues related to inventory and deliveries
Coordinate with other departments to meet event requirements
Ensure all bar equipment is functioning correctly and report any issues to the correct providers
Conducting regular line cleans across each location, ensuring we are compliant with H&S regulations

The business is very seasonal. Summer months are incredibly busy, with the busiest periods between May to September, and the month December. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals on weekends.
Travel required to and from events if required during the summer months. It is expected that you will visit certain events to assist the onsite teams, provide in person training and feedback or evaluate performance, system and process.
Overnight stays may be required but in conversation with yourself.
Evening and weekend availability is expected in the summer months during live events to assist where necessary. This can be remote. Overtime is paid.
