HEAD OF TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION

Salary: £45-50k p/a (dependant on experience) + benefits

Full Time Role, Hybrid, 3-4 days a week based at head office in London

The Role

Peppermint Events is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Technology & Innovation to lead our tech strategy across live events, venues, and internal operations. This is a pivotal role that blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, ensuring our technology infrastructure and innovation projects scale with our ambitious growth. You’ll be the driving force behind our digital transformation, supporting over 50 events annually and collaborating with partners like Levy UK, AEG, and Live Nation. We’re looking for someone incredibly passionate about delivering innovation and technology across our business with fast-paced success. Reports to:  Project Director    Manages: EPOS Project Manager & Tech Coordinator

  

Key Responsibilities

 

Technology & Innovation Projects

  • – Lead the delivery of strategic technology initiatives including forecasting tools, real-time sales dashboards and AI-driven data analytics.
  • – Collaborate with Levy UK’s data insights team to develop, integrate and leverage shared data intelligence.
  • – Pro-actively drive forward new event technology such as frictionless bars and beer walls
  • – Build business cases and ROI models for new technology projects and present to the Board.

 

Event Technology & EPOS Oversight

  • – Manage Peppermint’s fleet of 1000+ EPOS terminals across events and venues.
  • – Oversee hardware lifecycle: procurement, deployment, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • – Liaise with EPOS and payment providers to ensure seamless transactions and uptime.
  • – Evaluate and implement emerging payment technologies.

 

Internal IT Operations

  • – Act as the primary liaison with our outsourced IT support provider.
  • – Oversee IT infrastructure projects (e.g., SharePoint migration, stock system upgrades).
  • – Manage onboarding/offboarding processes, hardware acquisition, and user support.
  • – Ensure cybersecurity, compliance, and data integrity across the business.

What you’ll need

  • – Deep understanding of EPOS systems, payment technologies, and hardware deployment.
  • – Proven experience in IT leadership ideally within events, hospitality, or retail.
  • – Strong project management skills and experience managing complex project with multiple stakeholders
  • – Familiarity with data analytics platforms and AI applications.
  • – Experience managing outsourced IT providers and internal tech teams.

 

What will put you in the driving seat

  • – Experience working with live event tech at scale.
  • – Knowledge of AI forecasting tools and dashboard development tools such as PowerBi
  • – Track record of delivering ROI through technology innovation.
  • – Experience with venue-based operations and multi-site deployments.

Business Specific Requirements

Operating Environment & Context

Summer months are incredibly busy, with the busiest periods between May to September. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals on weekends.

Travel & Other Requirements

Travel required to and from events if required. It is expected that you will visit certain events to assist the onsite teams, provide in person training and feedback or evaluate performance, system and process.

Overnight stays may be required but in conversation with yourself.

Evening and weekend availability is expected in the summer months during live events to assist where necessary.
