Bar Staff - Freight Island, Manchester

We are hiring!!

Located in Baring Street, in the depot of Mayfield, Freight Island is an immersive entertainment venue with a range of food vendors and bars. Join our team at Freight Island, where you will be an integral part of the team, creating and serving extraordinary beverages and contributing to the vibrant atmosphere at our events. We’re seeking experienced bartenders who have a passion to provide excellent customer service and a taste of excitement to every customers day who comes through the doors.

 

Responsibilities:

– Take drink orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring attention to detail.

– Maintain bar cleanliness and surrounding areas

– Organise and restock fridges

– Welcoming customers at the bar and assisting with all inquiries

– Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks.

– Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any concerns or requests promptly.

 

Skills:

– Previous experience in a bar or hospitality environment is essential

– Great organisational skills

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude.

– Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

– Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.

 

  • Hourly rate – £11.45 from April
  • *Please Note Applicants must have a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays*
  • Interviews will be held over team’s
  • Applicants will only be considered with suitable previous experience
  • We are looking for lots of personality, customer service skills, a willingness to learn and a good work ethic!

Business Specific Requirements

Operating Environment & Context

The business is very seasonal. Summer months are incredibly busy, with the busiest periods between May to September, and the month December. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals on weekends.

Travel & Other Requirements

Travel required to and from events if required during the summer months. It is expected that you will visit certain events to assist the onsite teams, provide in person training and feedback or evaluate performance, system and process.

Overnight stays may be required but in conversation with yourself.
Evening and weekend availability is expected in the summer months during live events to assist where necessary. This can be remote. Overtime is paid.
