Food Project Manager

The Food Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of food services across events, ensuring a seamless operational flow that meets the high standards set by the Food and Premium department. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join Peppermint’s ranks and become part of a burgeoning new department delivering world-class food experiences at events and festivals.

The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, liaising between internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication with the Head of Food and Premium to align on strategy, operations, and delivery.

Start date ASAP

Salary- £35,000 to £40,000 depending on location and experience

In 2025, Peppermint’s busiest year yet, food operations will go live at the following events:

Core Accountabilities of the role

 

Project Planning and Delivery

  • Plan, manage, and execute food service projects across events, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations for each event.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  • Coordinate logistics for food-related equipment, suppliers, and staff including delivery schedules
  • Be budget holder overseeing the P&L for each event.

 

Trader and Supplier Management

  • Along side the Head of Food support on the sourcing and booking concessions across multiple shows.
  • Use the Eventree platform to manage street food traders and grow the database.
  • Be aware of commercial deals and manage contracts.
  • Oversee menu design and ensure sustainability standards for each event.
  • Maintain a high level of food quality and unit aesthetic.

 

On-Site Execution

  • Collaborate with the on-site team to deliver briefs end-to-end.
  • Be involved in the siting and infrastructure requirements for each concession
  • Address and resolve any on-site issues, either on-the-ground or remotely.
  • Manage accreditation requirements and utility needs for traders.
  • Ensure seamless alignment with on-site teams to meet client expectations.

 

Post-Event Analysis and Reporting

  • Conduct full event analysis, collating and presenting key data for debriefs.
  • Reconcile supplier revenue and prepare financial summaries.
  • Provide operational and commercial outcomes for clients, including feedback and improvement recommendations.
  • Lead supplier feedback processes and performance evaluations.

 

Stakeholder and Team Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between the Food and Premium department and other teams, such as operations, stock, and tech.
  • Work closely with the staffing team to ensure appropriate recruitment, training, and scheduling of food service staff.
  • Support cross-departmental collaboration to ensure cohesive delivery of food services.
  • Liaise with finance team on budgets and pre & post P&L reports

 

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Support senior management in shaping departmental processes and optimizing workflows.
  • Develop innovative strategies to enhance the guest experience and deliver premium offerings.

 

Business Specific Requirements

  • OPERATING ENVIRONMENT & CONTEXT 
  • Greenfield-Our summer months are the busiest periods (between April and October) when the venues operate with the most programming. The majority of our event sites are outdoors. 
  • Stadiums & Venues – All year round  

 

 

TRAVEL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Site visits and travel required  
  • Evening and weekend availability is expected in summer months. 
  • Head office- Hybrid/flexible working is possible. At least two days per week is required at our Head Office (Kennington, London) 
  • Overtime is paid in summer months. 

 

 

Key Skills and Competencies 

Essential: 

  • Proven experience in project management, ideally within the food and events industry. 
  • Valid UK drivers licence
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships across teams and stakeholders. 
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations. 
  • Budget management experience and a strong attention to detail. 
  • Adaptability and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments. 
  • Food hygiene level 2
  • Microsoft Office  

 

Desirable: 

  • Experience working in outdoor events or large-scale festivals. 
  • Familiarity with premium food and drink offerings. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software. 
  • Personal Licence Holder

Operating Environment & Context

Summer months are incredibly busy, with the busiest periods between May to September, and the month December. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals on weekends.

Travel & Other Requirements

Travel required to and from events if required. It is expected that you will visit certain events to assist the onsite teams, provide in person training and feedback or evaluate performance, system and process.

Overnight stays may be required but in conversation with yourself.
Evening and weekend availability is expected in the summer months during live events to assist where necessary. This can be remote. Overtime is paid.
