Stock Runner- Summer Festivals 2024

Job Overview:
Festival Stock Runner, playing a vital role in the dynamic movement and distribution of festival stock. We’re seeking an energetic and detail-oriented individual to join our team, responsible for efficiently running the distribution of festival stock, ensuring bars are well-stocked, and providing comprehensive support in various stock-related activities.

Responsibilities:

Stock Running: Working as a team with Stock Managers and other runners to ensure the timely running of stock around large festival sites.

Onsite Distribution: Efficiently distribute stock to designated festival areas, including making sure bars are sufficiently stocked, and ensuring that stock reaches their destinations promptly and in the required quantities.

Timely Response: Respond swiftly to urgent requests or unforeseen challenges, working closely with the team to address issues as they arise. Record all stock transfers and update stock managers on shortfalls and potential areas of concern.

Organization and Labeling: Maintain organized stock areas, efficient labeling systems, palletising and wrapping of stock for safe transportation. Assist with truck maintenance, ensuring vehicles are in a clean, tidy and safe condition for transporting stock.

Communication: Foster clear communication with onsite Managers, Bar Managers, and team members to relay updates, record stock movements, and ensure the seamless operation of stock-related activities. Assist with radio calls for bar managers requiring extra stock.

Stock Counts and Recordings: Support stock counts and recordings, providing accurate data to stock managers for inventory management.

Training Support: Offer support in training cellar managers with opening and closing procedures, ensuring efficient and secure handling of stock.

Use of Onsite Vehicles: Safely operate onsite vehicles to move stock around the festival site, ensuring timely and secure transportation.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and multitask effectively.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills

• Physical fitness, as the role may involve lifting and moving heavy stock

• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong command of the English language

• Polite, helpful and friendly approach

Desirable
• Proven experience as a Stock Runner or in a similar role, preferably in festival or large-scale event settings.
• UK Clean Driver’s License
• First Aid Qualification
• Health and Saftey Qualifications

Working Conditions:
This role involves outdoor work, irregular schedules based on festival timings, and collaboration with various teams to ensure the smooth running of festival stock activities.

Business Specific Requirements

Operating Environment & Context

The business is very seasonal. Summer months are incredibly busy, with the busiest periods between May to September, and the month December. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals on weekends.

Travel & Other Requirements

Travel required to and from events if required during the summer months. It is expected that you will visit certain events to assist the onsite teams, provide in person training and feedback or evaluate performance, system and process.

Overnight stays may be required but in conversation with yourself.
Evening and weekend availability is expected in the summer months during live events to assist where necessary. This can be remote. Overtime is paid.
