Build Crew- Summer Festivals 2026

Build Crew Member (Seasonal)

Role Overview

As a Build Crew Member, you’ll be part of the team responsible for building, installing, and breaking down bar structures and event setups at festivals and events across the UK. Working closely with the Build Manager, clients, and fellow crew members, you’ll help bring event spaces to life — from small bar builds to large-scale festival installations.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires flexibility, strong teamwork, and a practical, problem-solving mindset. Locations and schedules vary, and work often takes place under time pressure, so excellent timekeeping, stamina, and a positive, can-do attitude are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • – Use DIY and workshop skills, along with hand tools, to complete builds, adjustments, and minor repairs
  • – Work collaboratively with the Build Manager, crew, and clients to ensure bar areas are installed correctly and signed off
  • – Assist with unloading, storing, and organising equipment ahead of builds
  • – Plot, erect, furnish, and dress bar structures and event areas
  • – Support quality control checks to ensure bar areas are event-ready before going live
  • – Prioritise and complete daily build tasks while keeping work and storage areas organised
  • – Troubleshoot and resolve issues with bar structures as they arise
  • – Assist with post-event breakdowns, including removing furniture, signage, and decorative elements
  • – Load trucks and lorries with equipment at the end of events, ensuring safe and secure packing

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • – Ability to take direction, work independently when required, and communicate clearly with the team
  • – Physically capable of manual work, including lifting and carrying heavy items
  • – Strong work ethic with a determination to see tasks through to completion
  • – High attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work
  • – Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks, locations, and working hours
  • – Comfortable working outdoors in varied environments and conditions
  • – Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to use initiative when needed
  • – Polite, helpful, and professional attitude when working with clients and team members

Desirable

  • – Forklift or plant licences (e.g. Telehandler, Straight Mast, Cherry Picker, Scissor Lift)
  • – Previous experience in event builds, carpentry, or similar practical roles
  • – Full driving licence
  • – First Aid qualification
  • – Health & Safety certification

Working Environment

Peppermint Events is a seasonal business, with peak demand between June and September. This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, long shifts, physical labour, and flexible schedules based on event build and breakdown timelines. Camping is available at some events. If camping, you’ll need to bring your own tent and equipment. You will require your own Steel Toecap Boots and a Hi Vis Vest for this job role.
