Build Crew- Summer Festivals 2024

Job Overview:

Become a vital part of the festival magic as a Festival Build Crew Member! This dynamic role involves the installation of a variety of small to large-sized bars, working within a collaborative crew team, and reporting to the Build Manager. The nature of the business means you’ll be working at diverse locations throughout the UK. If you’ve got great physical stamina, excellent time-keeping skills, a ‘can-do attitude,’ and thrive under pressure, we want you on our team!

Main Responsibilities:

-Utilize DIY/workshop skills and hand tools to address minor issues.

-Collaborate with clients and fellow crew members to install stands and sign off on installations.

-Assist in unloading and storing equipment, plotting and erecting structures, and furnishing and dressing structures.

-Ensure quality control and clear sites in preparation for events.

-Prioritize and complete daily build tasks, maintain and organize storage areas.

-Assist in fixing or troubleshooting any structural problems.

-Contribute to the breakdown process, including stripping decorations, removing furnishings, setting down structures, and packing away.

 

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

Essential:

-Ability to take instructions, use initiative, and communicate effectively within the team.

-Physically fit, capable of lifting heavy items.

-Hardworking with a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.

-Attention to detail and a commitment to completing tasks to a high standard.

-Flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a desire to work and live outdoors.

-Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

-Polite, helpful, and friendly demeanor.

 

Preferred:

-Forklift license – Telehandler, Straight Mast, Cherry Picker, Scissor, etc.

-Experience in event carpentry.

-Valid driver’s license.

-First Aid Qualification.

-Health and Safety Qualification.

 

Operating Environment & Context:

Our business is seasonal, with the busiest periods between June and September. Many event sites are outdoors, including festivals with onsite camping facilities. Please note, you’ll need to provide your own tent and camping supplies.

Business Specific Requirements

Operating Environment & Context

The business is very seasonal. Summer months are incredibly busy, with the busiest periods between May to September, and the month December. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals on weekends.

Travel & Other Requirements

Travel required to and from events if required during the summer months. It is expected that you will visit certain events to assist the onsite teams, provide in person training and feedback or evaluate performance, system and process.

Overnight stays may be required but in conversation with yourself.
Evening and weekend availability is expected in the summer months during live events to assist where necessary. This can be remote. Overtime is paid.
