Purpose

The EPOS Department provides the equipment and systems an event requires both internally for Peppermint and externally for food traders and other revenue partners. As well as EPOS, this may. Include internet provisions and various control systems amongst other functions.

It is our responsibility to plan, install and implement these services to the event deadlines. We monitor and provide support during the event and pack up the event when it ends.

Deputy Epos Managers are an essential part of the team, supporting the EPOS Managers in ensuring that all staff are following processes and systems are working correctly. They ensure all hardware is deployed, configured and collected as needed. They oversee the hardware stores to ensure equipment is properly accounted for and stored. As well as any other operational matters that may occur.

 

The Role

Key Tasks:

– Lead EPOS team when the EPOS Manager is off shift / absent
– Managing any junior staff assigned to you
– Liaising with Bar and Event Managers to provide troubleshooting and support for all deployed systems
– Onsite hardware inventory management
– Ensuring the site tech storeroom and office is set up before the event starts
– Investigating and logging any damaged or lost devices
– Repairing damaged devices where possible
– Liaising with the EPOS Manager on additional equipment requirements
– Planning with management to carry out spot checks on bars
– Supporting the EPOS Manager with the end of the day reports internally and externally

Essential Knowledge, Experience, Skills & Characteristics

Essential Experience & Skills: Someone who has experience…

– Working in an event environment
– Managing a team of around five to ten people including time management and logging.
– Working with recent and current generation IOS, Android and Windows hardware and software
– In Office 365 and Google Workspace (especially Excel and Sheets)
– Good knowledge of POS systems (preferably Square)
– With communicating effectively whilst under pressure
– Operational/ production event experience

Preferred Experience & Skills: Someone who has…

– Full clean driving licence
– Basic networking and internet device management
– Management of technical or operational teams
