ABOUT THE VENUE:

Between the Bridges is a joint venture between Peppermint Events & Marcus Weedon. We are returning to the Southbank for our
4th season in May 2024.
Between the Bridges will feature a unique mix of London’s finest foods and bars. The event will also have content from local
promoters, artists and creative, two venues programmed with a mix of DJs, cabaret, and live music.
Live event dates – 2nd May 2024 – 23rd December 2024
Open – 7 days a week. Weekend work expected throughout.
The event is licensed for a capacity of 2000

 

THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic bartender to join our team at Between The Bridges. Working as part of our bar team is a varied
role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, engaging with the public, and ensuring a memorable
experience for all customers.
You will report directly to the bar manager and during your shift you must fulfil your role and ensure you are presenting a positive
image of the venue by being polite and friendly, conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times.
Potential candidates must have great physical stamina, great time-keeping skills, and the ability to work under pressure. The hours
are flexible, but can also be demanding.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

● You will be front line staff so will need to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, creating a
welcoming atmosphere at all times.

● You will be preparing drinks for customers in accordance with the venue’s specifications & standards, providing customer
recommendations as required.

● You will process payment transactions accurately and efficiently.

● You may be asked to support the barbacks by preparing fruit for garnishes, distributing consumables, restocking the bar
& glass washing.

● You will ensure you always work within our challenge 25 policy and adhere to responsible alcohol service practices,
reporting all refusals of service to your bar manager.

● You will ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy and organised

● You will work within the Bar Operations Manual / Health & Safety Policy / Employee Handbook

 

ABOUT YOU

You’ll be passionate about mixology, possess exceptional customer service skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll also:

● Have great communication skills- You’ll be able to engage with customers, listen to their preferences, and communicate
clearly with your team to ensure efficient operations.

● Be a problem solver- You’ll have the ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to solve problems quickly and
effectively.

● Be collaborative and thrive as part of a team, building strong relationships with your colleagues.

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS 

PREFERRED:
● Previous experience in a similar role

Business Specific Requirements

Operating Environment & Context

The business is very seasonal. Summer months are incredibly busy, with the busiest periods between May to September, and the month December. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals on weekends.

Travel & Other Requirements

Travel required to and from events if required during the summer months. It is expected that you will visit certain events to assist the onsite teams, provide in person training and feedback or evaluate performance, system and process.

Overnight stays may be required but in conversation with yourself.
Evening and weekend availability is expected in the summer months during live events to assist where necessary. This can be remote. Overtime is paid.
