Build Crew- Summer Festivals 2025

Job Title: Build Crew Member

Role Overview:

As a Build Crew member, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the installation of various small to large-sized bars and structures at event sites across the UK. You will report directly to the Build Manager and work collaboratively with clients and crew members. The nature of this role requires flexibility, as locations can vary, and the work can be physically demanding. Potential candidates must possess great stamina, excellent time-keeping skills, and a “can-do” attitude, as the work can be high-pressure and demanding.


Key Responsibilities:

-Utilise DIY/workshop skills and hand tools to address minor issues and repairs.

-Collaborate with clients and the crew to ensure successful installation of Bar Areas and sign-off of Bar structures.

-Assist with unloading and storing equipment in preparation for the build; plot, erect, furnish, and dress event structures.

-Support quality control processes where necessary, ensuring the bar areas are ready for the event to go live.

-Prioritise and complete daily build tasks, while maintaining and organising storage areas.

-Troubleshoot and fix any issues with the bar structures as they arise.

-Assist with the breakdown of bar structures post-event, including removing decorations, furniture, and packing down materials.

-Help load trucks and lorries with equipment at the end of each event.


Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

Essential:

-Ability to take direction, use initiative, and communicate effectively with the team.

-Capable of performing physical work and carrying heavy items.

-A hardworking attitude with a willingness to complete the job, no matter the challenge.

-High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering a high standard of work.

-Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks and working hours.

-Passion for working and living outdoors.

-Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative when needed.

-Polite, helpful, and friendly demeanor when interacting with clients and team members.

Preferred:

-Forklift license (e.g., Telehandler, Straight Mast, Cherry Picker, Scissor Lift).

-Previous event carpentry experience.

-Valid driver’s license.

-First Aid qualification.

-Health and Safety certification.


Working Conditions:

This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, standing for long periods, and adapting to flexible schedules based on festival timings.

Operating Environment and Context: Our business is seasonal, with peak demand during the summer months—particularly between June and September. Many of our events take place outdoors, and camping is available for onsite events. Please note, for camping events, you’ll need to bring your own tent and camping gear.

Business Specific Requirements

Operating Environment & Context

The business is very seasonal. Summer months are incredibly busy, with the busiest periods between May to September, and the month December. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals on weekends.

Travel & Other Requirements

Travel required to and from events if required during the summer months. It is expected that you will visit certain events to assist the onsite teams, provide in person training and feedback or evaluate performance, system and process.

Overnight stays may be required but in conversation with yourself.
Evening and weekend availability is expected in the summer months during live events to assist where necessary. This can be remote. Overtime is paid.
